Hi everyone, I would like to talk about my experience with the English at the university. Well, I do not have good reference about English at the university, except this course (the English 4th). I remember the English level 3 like a bored course. We had two modalities, working in laboratory with the writing a blog and other days we had expositive classes. In general, during expositive classes we worked in pair. The teacher chose a specific topic and we must to generate a dialogue around this topic or sometimes we had to answer certain questions about ourselves. The truth is… we spoke in Spanish because it was very difficult and boring to speak in English. When students get into to the university for the first time, they usually are not accustomed to the extensive hours of classes and often the English course is done in the afternoon after being in other classes in the morning, from 8.30 to 13.30. In my opinion, psychology should have practical courses right off the start because in the beginning we have too many theoretical ones. In the first year the study program has introductory courses for social sciences, like philosophy, anthropology, sociology, epistemology, among others. Therefore, first year psychology students don’t get to know about their professional field, so they get discouraged and unmotivated. Only when students undergo their fourth year they are able to approach psychology’s professional field because courses this year increase their specificity. At this point the student must decide what kind of psychology they will choose to work in.        From my perspective the workload and length of my career are adequate; I think that five years are necessary in order to become well-trained in psychology’s many applications. Well Well Well, I do not really want to think about my winter holidays because it will not be what I would like.  Although I am going to spend some time with my family at least. During my winter holidays my father will operate his leg and he needs to be hospitalized for 1 or 2 weeks, somebody must take care our dog (my father and me) and as he cannot do it, I must do it. I cannot disappear because my dog will die L and my father will need any word to comfort. After my father discharge from the hospital, I will take care in home until I must come back for studying to Santiago.  I don’t regret that because I love him and I wish he is healthy above all. So I am thinking my holidays peaceful in home, taking a rest, sharing with all my family and helping my dad. Well, I feel very sad when I must think about my future job, I would like to think about my future without job that involving responsibilities. But it is just a desire because now in fact, I am working teaching kids. At this time I have two students, Rafaela is 9 years old and Agustín is 13 years old. I really enjoy what I am doing I don’t know why but I feel fulfilled when I see the kids are learning and their faces light up when you tell them “hey, you can do it”. I think sometimes I would like to do classes again or collaborate to improve Chilean education from my study area, the psychology. Sometimes I intend to practice as clinical psychologist, but I don’t want to work forever like that. I would like to work doing research in neurosciences and education. On the other hand, I am motivated to work as a legal psychologist, collaborating with victims of violent crimes, young offenders or working in the prison system.
